Mycroft

The complaint was about a smell, a rare thing on the London, given its amazing air filtration system. He might have ignored it, but one complaint turned to two, and soon enough three. Again, he nearly ignored it, after all it was the Ambassador's wing, and god knew they could be fussy- But safety first and all that.

He'd been expecting bad cooking, or maybe some exotic plant or bug. Not the stench of death and a fresh corpse.

Investigations like this were delicate, and so Logan kept his team small for this one. Himself, Jack, and a couple of his top guys. More importantly though, he knew he needed to pull Mycroft in on this.

Standing outside the man's quarters, he hit the buzzer.

Jack

Logan swung by his quarters to grab a suit, and a spare for Jack, but after that they were off to the holodeck. Logan wasted no time calling up his favourite beach program- One that was almost home. Almost. Just enough small changes to make it less upsetting.Less traumatic, even.

"That fit okay?" he asked Jack, nodding at the wetsuit as they stood beneath some facsimile of the California sun.

Jack - Play, then Work

He was never going to get used to this. It wasn't as if they spent all their time together, this was still new after all, but they spent enough time that waking up in Jack's fucking hobbit hole happened more than Logan liked.

"You need a real bed. And a real bedroom. ...And sheets that don't date back to World War One," he complained, rubbing his face as he sat up and turned on the light.

Jack

Christmas was well in the past now, and Logan had settled into the new year. Things with Jack were- Well, they were as normal as he could hope, though things were still strange. There was no easy way to just get over learning some other him had lived some other life- With a man who was now his boss. Still, Logan had accepted that life was complicated, and he'd moved on as best as he could.

It was late now and most of the team had already left- But not Jack. Logan was certain the man never truly left work. Even when he said he was taking a night off, he was sure he was just working on something else. So after clicking off the lights in the record room he made his way to Jack's office, pushing open the unlocked door and leaning against the door frame.

"All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy," he tutted. "Come on, we're going out," he decided.

Jack - Christmas

(continued from here)

Sitting in the boarding area, Logan looked out one of the large windows, watching as planes took off and landed. In a way leaving London felt wrong- As though he was taking a time out from serving his sentence. Though working for Torchwood often felt the same way. He'd given up so much when he'd left America, convinced that it was for the greater good, and now- Now it seemed as though it had all been for nothing. Just one more fuck up in a long line of fuck ups.

He took solace in the idea that at least with Torchwood he stood more of a chance accomplishing what he'd come here to do, but that didn't really make it easier.

Glancing over at Jack, he hesitated slightly before speaking up. "What happens if there's no answers. No solutions?" he asked quietly.
