Jack - Christmas

(continued from here)
Sitting in the boarding area, Logan looked out one of the large windows, watching as planes took off and landed. In a way leaving London felt wrong- As though he was taking a time out from serving his sentence. Though working for Torchwood often felt the same way. He'd given up so much when he'd left America, convinced that it was for the greater good, and now- Now it seemed as though it had all been for nothing. Just one more fuck up in a long line of fuck ups.
He took solace in the idea that at least with Torchwood he stood more of a chance accomplishing what he'd come here to do, but that didn't really make it easier.
Glancing over at Jack, he hesitated slightly before speaking up. "What happens if there's no answers. No solutions?" he asked quietly.

Date: 2020-01-08 12:39 pm (UTC)"We can share, it doesn't matter," Logan replied, looking at Jack for a long moment.
It was a tactical move, in a way. If something happened, it happened, and he could see how Jack's motives shifted after. Though just because he was ready to let this happen to learn more about Jack, there was still guilt there. After all, in his heart he was still married. Leaving hadn't meant he stopped loving Veronica. Hell, in his head he still wondered if there wasn't a future for them still. ...Maybe. If she could ever find it in her to forgive him.
Though he knew Veronica wasn't the forgiving sort.

Date: 2020-01-11 01:37 am (UTC)In truth, Jack wanted nothing more than to sleep beside Logan. The very thought of the younger man curled on him, head on his shoulder, arms around him possessively...
God, he missed that.
"Sure. Okay," Jack agreed before finishing his beer. "But it's a couple hours til dark so we can buzz around the shore some more. Maybe find a private beach."

Date: 2020-01-11 01:45 am (UTC)"Sure," Logan agreed. "Whatever you want, Jack. It's a vacation, we can do whatever."
no subject
Date: 2020-01-11 01:54 am (UTC)He nodded, got lost in thought for just a moment, then nodded again and got up. He tidied up some trash, then left Logan there while he went below deck into the storage area.
He came back with a stack of towels. Jack sat them near the edge of the boat.
"Let's get in the water. You know all that about waiting an hour before swimming is a lie. Let's get in the water while the sun's up."
no subject
Date: 2020-01-11 02:06 am (UTC)"Yeah, alright," Logan agreed, finishing his beer and then stripping down to his swim shorts.
He wasn't shy about getting into the water, enjoying the slight chill.

Date: 2020-01-11 02:33 am (UTC)Jack jumped right in after him. He'd always loved the ocean. No place he'd ever been had felt like home if there wasn't a sandy shore nearby.
When he had resurfaced and wiped water from his eyes, Jack grinned broadly and then very deliberately splashed Logan in the face.

Date: 2020-01-11 02:38 am (UTC)Logan laughed and splashed him back.
"Seriously?" he asked with a laugh. "Are we going to have a damn splash fight?"
no subject
Date: 2020-01-11 02:42 am (UTC)"Oh, yeah," Jack laughed and sent another splash over.

Date: 2020-01-11 02:51 am (UTC)Logan brought a hand up to block the water, then laughed as he pushed his short, wet hair back.
"We should get a pool at HQ. Something indoors and heated," he said.

Date: 2020-01-11 02:59 am (UTC)"I don't see why not," Jack said. "I'll put in a work order."
For some reason that struck him as hilarious so he laughed at his own joke.

Date: 2020-01-11 03:07 am (UTC)Logan laughed, then started to float.
He was content to just swim for a bit, enjoying the sun and the waves. For a moment he could almost pretend he was home.

Date: 2020-01-11 03:13 am (UTC)Jack swam around a bit, floated for a bit, then decided he wanted to try something he hadn't done in a long time.
He smiled at Logan. "I'll be right back," he said.
Then he dove down, down in the crystal clear water. The minutes stretched on and still he swam around the sea floor, obviously looking for something.

Date: 2020-01-11 03:21 am (UTC)Logan watched, not sure what Jack was doing, but he decided to get out of the water for a bit. Climbing onto the boat he dried himself off, looking back to the water to see if Jack was back up yet.

Date: 2020-01-11 03:26 am (UTC)The sun was going down and Jack was losing light down by the sandy bottom. He was determined, though, and e stayed down for what should be impossible. Inhuman.
He did eventually surface and in his hand was a shell.
no subject
Date: 2020-01-11 03:34 am (UTC)Logan watched and raised a brow.
"You know, if you wanted a shell there's a shit ton on the beach, man," he chuckled.
no subject
Date: 2020-01-11 03:51 am (UTC)"No, I wanted this one," he said, passing Logan a white shell with a pretty pink inside. "You gotta have a souvenir not everyone can get."
no subject
Date: 2020-01-11 04:00 am (UTC)Logan looked confused, turning the shell over.
"You gonna string it on a necklace or something?" he asked. "A shark's tooth would be way cooler," he joked.

Date: 2020-01-11 04:04 am (UTC)"I have one of those," he said. There was a sort of mystified hope in his voice. Jack was well aware it was likely impossible, but sometimes it was nice to think it could be as simple as jogging Logan's memory.
no subject
Date: 2020-01-11 04:12 am (UTC)"Of course you do," Logan grinned. "You rip it out of the shark yourself?" he teased, smacking Jack's arm playfully and then drying off the rest of the way.

Date: 2020-01-11 04:26 am (UTC)"I might've. You never know," he replied. He toweled off and went to pull up the anchor.
"I'm going to move us around the island a bit more," he siad then and, still dripping, walked into the wheel room.
no subject
Date: 2020-01-11 04:34 am (UTC)"Sure thing, Captain. I'm going to clean up this mess and head into the cabin to get ready for bed," Logan replied.
no subject
Date: 2020-01-11 04:39 am (UTC)He headed out a bit farther from shore, then followed the coast line around. There was a little lagoon with a deserted beach, but Jack couldn't take the boat in because of the reef. They could swim in, but the sun was setting and that was nothing Jack wanted to take on right now.
So he dropped anchor and they could hear the sound of the waves on the shore and the soft breeze shaking the leaves of nearby palms.
Jack got distracted by the sunset.

Date: 2020-01-11 04:47 am (UTC)Logan came out once they were stopped, wearing pajama bottoms and sitting down by Jack.
"It's beautiful, huh?" he said.
no subject
Date: 2020-01-11 04:51 am (UTC)"It really is. And it never gets old," he said. "There's just something about sunset. I don't know...whatever," he shrugged. Then he turned to look at Logan.
"Huh. I'm overdressed for this party."
