Jack - Christmas
(continued from here)
Sitting in the boarding area, Logan looked out one of the large windows, watching as planes took off and landed. In a way leaving London felt wrong- As though he was taking a time out from serving his sentence. Though working for Torchwood often felt the same way. He'd given up so much when he'd left America, convinced that it was for the greater good, and now- Now it seemed as though it had all been for nothing. Just one more fuck up in a long line of fuck ups.
He took solace in the idea that at least with Torchwood he stood more of a chance accomplishing what he'd come here to do, but that didn't really make it easier.
Glancing over at Jack, he hesitated slightly before speaking up. "What happens if there's no answers. No solutions?" he asked quietly.

Logan laughed at that, then sighed as he stretched out.
"Yeah- Yeah, that would have been my idea of perfection back then," he confessed.
no subject
"What if you could do it now. Would you?" he asked. "Just kiss it all good bye and live on coconuts and fish?"
no subject
"No," Logan said honestly. "I mean, it appeals, obviously, but I like having purpose. I like feeling as though I'm doing something. I think I need to have something to do- I need to feel like I'm helping."
no subject
Jack smiled at that and looked to where Logan was with unbelievable affection in his eyes. So much had changed. And yet...Logan was still Logan.
no subject
Logan looked over, offering a small smile.
"What about you? Going to give up your job and start a new life as a beach hermit?"
no subject
"Wish I could, but I can never seem to find the time," Jack replied.
no subject
"Retire, give me a promotion," Logan grinned. "I'll gladly take the car and the office."
no subject
Jack laughed softly.
"I've got a lot of years left yet to make a difference," he said.
no subject
"Damn," Logan said with a put on sigh. "Guess I'll have to buy my own car. ...Maybe I'll get a bike. I'd look good on a bike."
no subject
"You would look good on a bike," Jack nodded. "Bet I could get Torchwood R&D to custom make you one."
no subject
"A shocking abuse of power," Logan tutted playfully.
no subject
"What's a better use of power than to abuse it for toys?" he laughed.
no subject
Logan laughed, then shrugged. "I don't need a bike, I'm alright. You'll just have to drive me around a while longer."
no subject
"Your chauffeur until the end of my days," he grinned. He looked out across the water and pointed. "Look!"
A puff of vapor sparkled in the air as a whale breeched. It's fluke was in the air a moment later as it dove.
no subject
Logan turned for a better look, smiling slightly.
"Very cool," he said softly.

The wind gusted and pushed them in toward shore, but the water was deep and the shore nearly a cliff.
"It's shady here. Want to anchor for lunch?"
no subject
"Sure," Logan agreed, sitting up and peeling his shirt off casually. "I'm starving," he admitted with a smile- A smile that was just a bit flirty.
no subject
Jack dropped anchor and tied off. Then he ducked into the galley to grab some of the well stocked goods.
"I dunno, take your pick," he said as he sat down packets and containers.
no subject
Grabbing a wrapped sandwich and a beer, Logan settled in to eat.
"It is nice to get away from the city. Sometimes I forget what clean air smells like."
no subject
"Yeah," he nodded. "It kind of stinks. But, well, it's always smelled bad in London. Trust me," he said as he took a bag of crisps.
no subject
"Right, because you're just so old," Logan snorted, still not really believing it.
no subject
"You think I'm full of shit, don't you?" he asked, his smile fading just a bit. "I'm not. Time travel is a hell of a thing."
no subject
"I don't- It's just hard to make sense of, you know?" Logan shrugged.
no subject
"There's a lot of things in this world that don't make sense," Jack pointed out. "Doesn't make them not true."
no subject
"I know," Logan assured him. "I'm not saying I don't believe you, just that it's kind of wild, that's all."
