Jack - Play, then Work

He was never going to get used to this. It wasn't as if they spent all their time together, this was still new after all, but they spent enough time that waking up in Jack's fucking hobbit hole happened more than Logan liked.

"You need a real bed. And a real bedroom. ...And sheets that don't date back to World War One," he complained, rubbing his face as he sat up and turned on the light.

"I think we should start with a temporal scan. But I don't have anything that can say if you've jumped dimensions. I mean, I think we can assume you did in some way," he said.

"I thought you were going to suggest pizza and video games, but fine, we can do the boring scan crap. Just don't explain it to me," he said, climbing out the rig.

"I'll order you pizza. We can call it date night, okay/ Dinner, playing doctor...it'll be hot," he promised as he got out and slammed the door.

[logan_echolls]

"Make it two pies and you've got yourself a date, captain," Logan grinned.

"Not worried about carbs anymore?" he teased. "Come on, come on. We're wasting valuable time."

[logan_echolls]

"You missing the muscles already?" Logan asked, following him inside and pulling his sadly sagging pants up.

"I'm just kidding," Jack said. He fell in beside Logan and instantly reached over to grab his ass. "I like what I got."

[logan_echolls]

"That's sexual harassment, captain, and I'm absolutely reporting you. ...You know, as soon as I work out where the HR office is. ...Is it space? I bet it's space. I'm going to have to go all the way to mars to tell someone you grabbed my ass."

"HR is a hassle," he said. He said like he had intimate knowledge.

[logan_echolls]

"Yeah, I bet you spend a lot of time on Mars," Logan snorted.

Jack laughed warmly at that all the way to the hub where the computers and light popped on as soon as they stepped inside.

"Let's start in the med bay."

[logan_echolls]

"My favourite," Logan quipped dryly, following along and finding it odd how everything felt new and familiar all at once.

"Really it's just the fastest way to get you out of your pants," Jack said over his shoulder. He hung up his coat and began to bring different scanners online.

"I'm pretty sure you asking me to take them off is way faster and has a much higher success rate, but I'm not here to kink shame," he said as they headed into medical.

"Thank god for that. Maybe you'll be that open minded when I bring my wasp friend home," he teased, back to Logan so the man couldn't see how much Jack had amused himself.

"Gross," Logan replied, pulling a face. "I can't think of anyone I want to have a threesome with less."

Jack laughed like he was a teenage boy. He had, of course, been joking. He hadn't seen that kind of alien anywhere on this side of the galaxy.

"Cmere," he said, offering his hand.

[logan_echolls]

Logan raised a brow, then shrugged and took the offered hand.

Jack dragged him to the exam table and had him stand there, then he pulled out a device and ran it up and down in front of Logan.

There was no reading at all. The device may as well have been scanning a wall.

"Weird"

"Not what a guy wants to hear when you're scanning him, Jack," Logan replied, watching the other man as he worked. "What's it saying?"

Jack seemed so confident when he worked- It was a confidence younger Logan envied. He wanted that. He wanted to carry himself the way Jack did.

"This one doesn't say anything," he said, showing Logan the screen. "And all that tells me is that this isn't temporal."

[logan_echolls]

"Okay, well, I don't think I know what that means, but cool," Logan replied. "I mean, the shift was physical and mental, but what if it wasn't caused by an outside force, what if it was an internal shift, triggered by an external force?" Logan suggested, pausing and then leaning in as he pretended to whisper.

"I'm implying it's your fault, FYI."

"My fault?" he replied. He hadn't thought of that. That changed a lot.

He grabbed a pen light and flashed it into Logan's eyes.

Logan squinted a little, the light really bothering him.

Again, there was nothing to find.

"Why don't you get undressed," he said, moving away to get some different tech.
