Jack - Play, then Work

He was never going to get used to this. It wasn't as if they spent all their time together, this was still new after all, but they spent enough time that waking up in Jack's fucking hobbit hole happened more than Logan liked.

"You need a real bed. And a real bedroom. ...And sheets that don't date back to World War One," he complained, rubbing his face as he sat up and turned on the light.

"I've got some money," he replied, downplaying it a lot. He'd had his finger on the pulse, investing in companies like IBM, Disney, and Apple. Plus he got a good wage with Torchwood. All that coupled with the fact he didn't buy much beyond clothes and food meant he was flush.

Logan sighed, his hand slipping under Jack's shirt as though it simply belonged there.

"I guess money doesn't mean much when we don't know when or where we'll be a month from now," he said quietly.

"Yeah, but it'll keep us comfortable for now," he said.

He'd been so focused on whether or not Logan would recall that he hadn't thought about what after. Marriage, dogs, and babies? A lifetime with Torchwood? Or would Logan prove to be right and this would all vanish.

None of it heartened him.

"I don't care as long as we're together," Logan admitted. "Broke or rich, I'm all in. ...That should have been my vows," he quipped, looking at Jack.

Jack rolled closer and caught Logan's lips in another kiss.

"We can always get married again," he suggested. "Take another crack at those vows."

"I don't need paper to prove this is real," Logan said quietly, his gaze curious as he studied Jack between kisses.

"You found me, didn't you?" he said softly. "I don't know where I was, but- You found me."

"I promised I would. I'm just sorry it took so long," he replied.

Logan shrugged, his hand sliding higher up the other man's chest.

"You found me, that's all that matters."

"God, it feels good when you do that," he sighed, slightly arching up against Logan's touch.

"Yeah?" Logan smiled, slowly moving to climb atop him. "What else do you like, Captain?"

Jack groaned softly and immediately took hold of Logan's hips.

"...everything," he said quietly.

[logan_echolls]

"Everything? ...Well, it'll take time to get a lobster costume and seven pounds of butter..." Logan said, pretending to think about it.

"How did you know that in the time we've been apart I developed a huge lobster kink," Jack teasrd.

[logan_echolls]

"Must be that deep connection that we share," he grinned, ducking down and kissing Jack softly.

One of their phones started to buzz, and Logan groaned.

"Was that yours or mine?" he asked, looking over at the phones. "We should probably see what it was."

[logan_echolls]

Logan nearly suggested they throw them out the damn window and do whatever they want- But there was still enough of the other him lingering that he was already getting up to see which phone it was.

"Oh, it's yours," he said, tossing it to Jack.

Jack took it, sat up a little, then checked what it was.

"I wonder if I can just ignore this," he sighed. "Mist accumulating in the West End."

[logan_echolls]

"So let's go look. ...And maybe grab some real estate brochures while we're out," Logan suggested.

"I was kind of enjoying that whole thing with you on top of me," he grumbled as he got up.

[logan_echolls]

"So hard being the boss, huh?" Logan smirked. "You want to call out sick, spend the day in bed? You wouldn't last ten minutes, Harkness."

"You're generous. I wouldn't last five," he shot back with a smile.

[logan_echolls]

"Well, you know, Cosmo always says you should be careful with your man's ego," Logan snorted, pulling on his clothes and then sighing when he remembered they were too big.

"Let's stop at H&M while we're at it. Looks like I had the opposite of a growth spurt. What do you even call that? You know, other than osteoporosis."

"We really do need to check you out," Jack said. "It's shaping up to be a full day."

[logan_echolls]

"Lame," Logan sighed. "But sure, whatever."

"The mist is the priority, though," he said.
