Jack - Play, then Work

He was never going to get used to this. It wasn't as if they spent all their time together, this was still new after all, but they spent enough time that waking up in Jack's fucking hobbit hole happened more than Logan liked.

"You need a real bed. And a real bedroom. ...And sheets that don't date back to World War One," he complained, rubbing his face as he sat up and turned on the light.

Logan nearly suggested they throw them out the damn window and do whatever they want- But there was still enough of the other him lingering that he was already getting up to see which phone it was.

"Oh, it's yours," he said, tossing it to Jack.

Jack took it, sat up a little, then checked what it was.

"I wonder if I can just ignore this," he sighed. "Mist accumulating in the West End."

"So let's go look. ...And maybe grab some real estate brochures while we're out," Logan suggested.

"I was kind of enjoying that whole thing with you on top of me," he grumbled as he got up.

[logan_echolls]

"So hard being the boss, huh?" Logan smirked. "You want to call out sick, spend the day in bed? You wouldn't last ten minutes, Harkness."

"You're generous. I wouldn't last five," he shot back with a smile.

[logan_echolls]

"Well, you know, Cosmo always says you should be careful with your man's ego," Logan snorted, pulling on his clothes and then sighing when he remembered they were too big.

"Let's stop at H&M while we're at it. Looks like I had the opposite of a growth spurt. What do you even call that? You know, other than osteoporosis."

"We really do need to check you out," Jack said. "It's shaping up to be a full day."

[logan_echolls]

"Lame," Logan sighed. "But sure, whatever."

"The mist is the priority, though," he said.

[logan_echolls]

"I'd be insulted if I wasn't glad I wasn't being rushed off to be poked and jabbed. So let's go then," he said, smacking Jack's backside on his way past.

Out in the rig Jack's stomach growled.

"We're grabbing breakfast on the way," he decided.

Logan seemed a little distracted, looking out the window as if he hadn't seen London before. ...Even though he had, right? He had.

Rubbing his face, he frowned to himself before looking over at Jack. "Yeah, sure, whatever," he agreed.

Jack merged into traffic hell and was quiet for a bit.

"You're quiet," he said after a minute.

[logan_echolls]

"You're chatty," Logan countered, just a bit obnoxiously, as though picking at the other man to start a fight. It was something the older Logan would never have done.

"I can be," he said. Centuries and millennia had made him much more patient than he had ever been before.

"Ugh, don't go all zen on me," Logan complained, thumping his head back against the headrest. "Tell me I'm being an asshole or whatever, but don't be all- This. A wet sack of bullshit."

"You say the nicest things to me," Jack replied. "You're making me think the mist isn't more important than checking you out."

[logan_echolls]

"Are you trying to threaten me with a cat scan?" Logan asked. "You gonna subdue me with a flu shot next?"

"Pretty sure both of those are Fall Out Boy songs," he quipped.

[logan_echolls]

"You would like Fall Out Boy," Logan snorted. He was smiling now though, far less antagonistic. "You're freaked out because my brain's all scrambled. I get it- But we both know whatever happened isn't going to turn up on a scan. It's either island bullshit or mist bullshit- Just be glad I didn't get turned into a fish or something dumb like that. Embrace the new old me and be happy your husband's home. ...Unless you were hoping to move on to someone new."

"Well, there's this hot pilot I've been trying to land," he shrugged, unable to stop with his smart-ass smile.

[logan_echolls]

"Right, I was a pilot. ...Hey, you think I can still fly? Like, maybe all that stuff is up here somewhere?" Logan asked. "Is that even possible?"

"Anything's possible," he replied. "Which is why tests are important."

[logan_echolls]

"Fine. Test me, daddy," Logan replied, rolling his eyes. "Seriously, go to town. I'm calling it now though, it'll be a waste of time."
