(continued from here)
Sitting in the boarding area, Logan looked out one of the large windows, watching as planes took off and landed. In a way leaving London felt wrong- As though he was taking a time out from serving his sentence. Though working for Torchwood often felt the same way. He'd given up so much when he'd left America, convinced that it was for the greater good, and now- Now it seemed as though it had all been for nothing. Just one more fuck up in a long line of fuck ups.
He took solace in the idea that at least with Torchwood he stood more of a chance accomplishing what he'd come here to do, but that didn't really make it easier.
Glancing over at Jack, he hesitated slightly before speaking up. "What happens if there's no answers. No solutions?" he asked quietly.

Date: 2019-12-31 02:51 am (UTC)Logan lingered near the edge, looking out at the crystal waters.
"I don't mind," he said. "We could just sail, see how far the water takes us."

Date: 2019-12-31 03:16 am (UTC)"Good plan. Better put on some sunblock, we don't have to turn the boat in until nine tonight," he said.
He stayed at the helm, navigating away from the other boats and tourists. In the cabin there was a bunk, a table with two chairs, and a fully stocked galley. In the refrigerator were single serve bottles of champagne, even.

Date: 2019-12-31 03:27 am (UTC)Logan felt at home on the water, and he stretched out lazily
"I could live like this, out on the water," he said. "Just drifting,"

Date: 2019-12-31 03:58 am (UTC)"Its pretty great," Jack smiled. "I think you were born to be a beach bum, Logan. It suits you," he added.

Date: 2019-12-31 04:07 am (UTC)"Mmm, damn my unexpected work ethic," Logan quipped, stretching out lazily.

Date: 2019-12-31 04:09 am (UTC)"That happens when you grow up. I can see you easily- nineteen with a surfboard and no worries. I bet you'd have been happy as could be doing this at that age," he said.
no subject
Date: 2019-12-31 04:13 am (UTC)Logan laughed at that, then sighed as he stretched out.
"Yeah- Yeah, that would have been my idea of perfection back then," he confessed.

Date: 2019-12-31 04:17 am (UTC)"What if you could do it now. Would you?" he asked. "Just kiss it all good bye and live on coconuts and fish?"
no subject
Date: 2019-12-31 04:25 am (UTC)"No," Logan said honestly. "I mean, it appeals, obviously, but I like having purpose. I like feeling as though I'm doing something. I think I need to have something to do- I need to feel like I'm helping."
no subject
Date: 2019-12-31 04:31 am (UTC)Jack smiled at that and looked to where Logan was with unbelievable affection in his eyes. So much had changed. And yet...Logan was still Logan.

Date: 2019-12-31 04:35 am (UTC)Logan looked over, offering a small smile.
"What about you? Going to give up your job and start a new life as a beach hermit?"
no subject
Date: 2019-12-31 04:37 am (UTC)"Wish I could, but I can never seem to find the time," Jack replied.
no subject
Date: 2019-12-31 04:53 am (UTC)"Retire, give me a promotion," Logan grinned. "I'll gladly take the car and the office."

Date: 2019-12-31 05:01 am (UTC)Jack laughed softly.
"I've got a lot of years left yet to make a difference," he said.
no subject
Date: 2019-12-31 05:04 am (UTC)"Damn," Logan said with a put on sigh. "Guess I'll have to buy my own car. ...Maybe I'll get a bike. I'd look good on a bike."
no subject
Date: 2019-12-31 05:06 am (UTC)"You would look good on a bike," Jack nodded. "Bet I could get Torchwood R&D to custom make you one."
no subject
Date: 2019-12-31 05:09 am (UTC)"A shocking abuse of power," Logan tutted playfully.
no subject
Date: 2019-12-31 05:12 am (UTC)"What's a better use of power than to abuse it for toys?" he laughed.
no subject
Date: 2019-12-31 05:35 am (UTC)Logan laughed, then shrugged. "I don't need a bike, I'm alright. You'll just have to drive me around a while longer."
no subject
Date: 2019-12-31 05:43 am (UTC)"Your chauffeur until the end of my days," he grinned. He looked out across the water and pointed. "Look!"
A puff of vapor sparkled in the air as a whale breeched. It's fluke was in the air a moment later as it dove.

Date: 2019-12-31 05:47 am (UTC)Logan turned for a better look, smiling slightly.
"Very cool," he said softly.

Date: 2019-12-31 05:53 am (UTC)The wind gusted and pushed them in toward shore, but the water was deep and the shore nearly a cliff.
"It's shady here. Want to anchor for lunch?"
no subject
Date: 2019-12-31 06:02 am (UTC)"Sure," Logan agreed, sitting up and peeling his shirt off casually. "I'm starving," he admitted with a smile- A smile that was just a bit flirty.
no subject
Date: 2019-12-31 06:05 am (UTC)Jack dropped anchor and tied off. Then he ducked into the galley to grab some of the well stocked goods.
"I dunno, take your pick," he said as he sat down packets and containers.
no subject
Date: 2019-12-31 06:17 am (UTC)Grabbing a wrapped sandwich and a beer, Logan settled in to eat.
"It is nice to get away from the city. Sometimes I forget what clean air smells like."
