Jack - Play, then Work
He was never going to get used to this. It wasn't as if they spent all their time together, this was still new after all, but they spent enough time that waking up in Jack's fucking hobbit hole happened more than Logan liked.
"You need a real bed. And a real bedroom. ...And sheets that don't date back to World War One," he complained, rubbing his face as he sat up and turned on the light.

Jack started looking through the listings, but nothing struck him. Well, that one had nice cabinets, and that other one had a full laundry, but to him a place was a place.
"What about this one?" Jack asked, picking one at random.
no subject
"It's big, but old. Kinda ugly. I could put in new counters... The carpet is shit though. It's green, who wants lime green carpet?" Logan laughed.
no subject
"What's wrong with green?" Jack laughed, Xing out of that listing. "Maybe I'm not the best one to pick. The last kitchen I had, the appliances were avocado."
no subject
Logan sighed, then looked at Jack thoughtfully.
"I guess we could renovate something," he suggested.
no subject
Jack did like seeing Logan sweaty and half naked and covered in sawdust. That alone made the idea of renovating so appealing.
"We could get an agent, too," he said. "Though renovation sounds kinda fun."
no subject
"Actually, we could, uh, renovate here," Logan pointed out.
no subject
"Here? Come on," he chuckled. "I mean...if you really want to. We could get you marble counters..."
no subject
"I dunno, just a thought," Logan shrugged.
no subject
'it's a good thought," he said. He looked back to the computer, closed a tab, then was caught off guard "What about this one?" he asked. "Maybe not the black, but I like the wood floor."
no subject
"It's nice," Logan said. "Storage... It would work."
no subject
"Windows That's going to take some getting used to again," he said with a sweet little half smile. He got up and turned the computer. "You look a minute. I've got to pee."
no subject
Logan nodded, flipping through listings, but soon got distracted by the news. Nothing about the mist. Nothing that stood out as odd.
Boring.
no subject
On his way back he grabbed a cold bottle of water.
"Anything?" Jack asked, cracking the cap.
no subject
"No. Uh, no places either," Logan added. "I guess there's mine, but it's small."
no subject
"I can't call you a liar," he said, nodding his head. "I think if we're going to have a place we need somewhere with some room. You, uh, want to go look today? I checked the systems remotely and there's nothing coming down the line. Everything painfully normal," he said. "We could take the day off."
no subject
"That's so painfully normal," Logan smiled. "I-"
His smile faltered. It was normal, and it was happening so fast... Fuck.
"Fuck open houses, let's go for a drive," he suggested. "There was that signal we tracked all the way to France two weeks ago. Let's follow up on it in person."
no subject
Jack scratched his fingers in his hair, considered it, then decided he liked the idea of checking up on things much better than comparing paint chips and plumbing fixtures.
"Probably a good idea. Let me take a shower and things and we can go."
no subject
There was still always a faint hint of hesitation or guilt, but Logan leaned in slightly and gave Jack a light kiss on the lips.
no subject
Every time, every single time, Jack absolutely melted when Logan's lips so much as brushed his. And it never really lasted, so he treasured every one.
"You want me to wash your back?" he offered flirtatiously, expecting nothing to come of it.
no subject
"Okay," he said after a moment.
no subject
He was a little shocked, but deeply pleased. He abandoned his water bottle on the vanity counter so he could undress.
no subject
Logan watched, admiring Jack for a moment then peeling his own shirt off.
They'ed been sharing space, were talking about moving into a new one- It seemed stupid to keep the walls up any longer. This was strange, but it didn't feel wrong. It felt natural.
no subject
Jack was shamelessly naked as he got into the shower and turned on the water. It took a moment to e warm, then he moved out of the way to let Logan in.
"I'll turn it up if it's too cold," he said.
no subject
"It's fine," Logan said getting in and letting the water rush over him. He'd had so many bad showers abroad that his standards were pretty low, but...
"Big walk-in shower. That's something the next place needs," he said.
no subject
"I'm on board with that," Jack nodded. He scooped some water to splash on his face, then wiped it away. "You want a tub too? Something to soak in?"
