Jack - Play, then Work
He was never going to get used to this. It wasn't as if they spent all their time together, this was still new after all, but they spent enough time that waking up in Jack's fucking hobbit hole happened more than Logan liked.
"You need a real bed. And a real bedroom. ...And sheets that don't date back to World War One," he complained, rubbing his face as he sat up and turned on the light.

"I can be," he said. Centuries and millennia had made him much more patient than he had ever been before.

"Ugh, don't go all zen on me," Logan complained, thumping his head back against the headrest. "Tell me I'm being an asshole or whatever, but don't be all- This. A wet sack of bullshit."
no subject
"You say the nicest things to me," Jack replied. "You're making me think the mist isn't more important than checking you out."
no subject
"Are you trying to threaten me with a cat scan?" Logan asked. "You gonna subdue me with a flu shot next?"
no subject
"Pretty sure both of those are Fall Out Boy songs," he quipped.
no subject
"You would like Fall Out Boy," Logan snorted. He was smiling now though, far less antagonistic. "You're freaked out because my brain's all scrambled. I get it- But we both know whatever happened isn't going to turn up on a scan. It's either island bullshit or mist bullshit- Just be glad I didn't get turned into a fish or something dumb like that. Embrace the new old me and be happy your husband's home. ...Unless you were hoping to move on to someone new."

"Well, there's this hot pilot I've been trying to land," he shrugged, unable to stop with his smart-ass smile.
no subject
"Right, I was a pilot. ...Hey, you think I can still fly? Like, maybe all that stuff is up here somewhere?" Logan asked. "Is that even possible?"
no subject
"Anything's possible," he replied. "Which is why tests are important."
no subject
"Fine. Test me, daddy," Logan replied, rolling his eyes. "Seriously, go to town. I'm calling it now though, it'll be a waste of time."
no subject
"Maybe, but it'll make me feel better," he said. "And it's not just an excuse to get you naked.
no subject
Logan rolled his eyes, but smiled just a bit. "Sure, fine, we'll do the tests. Whatever you need, Jack."
no subject
"But first, a burrito," he said with a smile. He veered into a lot with a very tight drive thru and ordered food for them both.
He looked over at Logan.
"I'm worried, but also hungry and, you know, burritos."
no subject
"I'm not complaining," Logan assured him with a grin. "Siempre comeré burritos, amigo."
no subject
"Your Spanish is still absolutely terrible," Jack chuckled. He looked over at Logan, deep affection in his eyes.
This was all so wrong. He didn't know what or why and if it had been anyone else Jack would have them strapped to a table while he took apart the secrets. But he couldn't do it to Logan. And it was entirely selfish. Odd as it was, he seemed to have everything he'd wanted all these years.
Surely testing could wait a while...

"So you can talk dirty in three languages? That's hot," Jack replied. He passed the money and got the food, handing the bag to Logan.
"Okay, West End. This should be just great."
no subject
"Whatever you say, Captain," Logan replied, already digging through the bag for his burrito.
"What do you think we'll find?" he asked. "Like, seriously, this whole mist thing- After all the crap we went through on the island, do you think we're going to uncover something here?"
no subject
"You're going to shatter my fantasy that there's an answer?" Jack chuckled. "I don't know. In all the years of the Time Agency and Torchwood...I've never gotten even a little close to an answer about the island. Or the mist. Or a lot of things, actually."
no subject
"Even if you could solve it, what would you do? Stop it? Without this chaos, there's no us," Logan pointed out.
no subject
"Sometimes I just want the answers," Jack said. "I doubt there's any way to control it. I'm not dumb."

Jack rolled to a stop and looked over at Logan. He'd not thought of it like that. It was a very good point. What if he poked and prodded until he undid everything?
no subject
Logan looked over, then shrugged. "Just a thought."
no subject
"It's a good thought," he nodded. "I don't like it, but you've got a point."
He dug for a burrito.
"I'm not going to risk losing you."
