Sitting in the boarding area, Logan looked out one of the large windows, watching as planes took off and landed. In a way leaving London felt wrong- As though he was taking a time out from serving his sentence. Though working for Torchwood often felt the same way. He'd given up so much when he'd left America, convinced that it was for the greater good, and now- Now it seemed as though it had all been for nothing. Just one more fuck up in a long line of fuck ups.

He took solace in the idea that at least with Torchwood he stood more of a chance accomplishing what he'd come here to do, but that didn't really make it easier.

Glancing over at Jack, he hesitated slightly before speaking up. "What happens if there's no answers. No solutions?" he asked quietly.

"Not as sharp as my piloting, but I can get by," Logan laughed, helping himself to more eggs.

"God, I'd love to fly with you," he said, smiling at the very thought. He'd read Logan's file and knew academically what sort of pilot he was...but a file was one thing and getting hands on something else entirely.

"Yeah? I'll take you up sometime if you want. I bet it's not too hard to rent a plane," Logan shrugged, offering a smile.

"Okay, one adventure at a time," Jack chuckled.

Logan held his hands up and laughed. "Just an offer, Jack," he assured him.

"One I will absolutely take you up on," he promised. There was a momen where it looked like he might reach for more bacon, but instead he leaned and stretched and grabbed his phone.

"I need to find a boat rental place. Finish eating."

"Yes sir," Logan replied, pretending to salute and snorting a laugh.

It didn't take long to get everything set up. Jack poured a cup of coffee and had a big swallow.

"Ready and waiting," he said. "Are you done? I'm going to take some bacon with me."

"I'm good. Let me grab my shoes and we can go," Logan nodded, getting up and getting ready to go.

Outside the hotel Jack flagged down a pedicab and they got an up close tour of the street between the hotel and the marina.

Jack had to admit, it was a really gorgeous island.

Logan took in the scenery, but most of his attention was on Jack for the moment.

"Sorry if I was too in your space last night," he said casually.

"Nah, no, it's okay," Jack said. "It was kinda...nice."

"You don't read to me like the lonely sort, so I'm just going to assume you like my shampoo," Logan quipped.

"That's exactly what it is," Jack answered. He held the door to the office open and followed after Logan. He already had his wallet out to lay down a featureless black card.

Logan seemed content to let Jack pay. After all, his own funds were pretty limited these days. So while Jack took care of that, Logan browsed some brochures on the wall, picking one up that featured a rustic looking beach hut on the front.

Jack took care of paying and signing, then, with key in hand, he joined Logan.

"Nice place. You ever think about life on an island in a hut?"

Logan flipped back to the front of the pamphlet, then shrugged.

"Sure, everyone has that fantasy now and then, right? I used to have dreams about it. They're hazy now, but I feel like for years I kept dreaming about living on some island in the middle of nowhere. ...Though, you know, I remember them about as well as you can remember a dream. Which is not well at all," he snorted, putting the pamphlet back.

"We good to go?"

"Yeah, we're good," he replied quietly, letting what Logan had said sink in.

So maybe this wasn't a lost cause. Maybe he could jog those memories.

"Our boat is the Summer Breeze," he said as he gestured down the dock.

"Yeah? Is it gonna make us feel fine?" Logan joked as they wandered down the dock.

"That's the plan," Jack chuckled.

It had been some time since he'd gone out on a boat, but this one was easy enough. A bright white sailboat with a yellow and red sail, it was easy enough to maneuver her out of the marina and into open water.

"What do you say, just stick to the shore, see what the island's like?"

Logan lingered near the edge, looking out at the crystal waters.

"I don't mind," he said. "We could just sail, see how far the water takes us."

"Good plan. Better put on some sunblock, we don't have to turn the boat in until nine tonight," he said.

He stayed at the helm, navigating away from the other boats and tourists. In the cabin there was a bunk, a table with two chairs, and a fully stocked galley. In the refrigerator were single serve bottles of champagne, even.
