Jack - Christmas
(continued from here)
Sitting in the boarding area, Logan looked out one of the large windows, watching as planes took off and landed. In a way leaving London felt wrong- As though he was taking a time out from serving his sentence. Though working for Torchwood often felt the same way. He'd given up so much when he'd left America, convinced that it was for the greater good, and now- Now it seemed as though it had all been for nothing. Just one more fuck up in a long line of fuck ups.
He took solace in the idea that at least with Torchwood he stood more of a chance accomplishing what he'd come here to do, but that didn't really make it easier.
Glancing over at Jack, he hesitated slightly before speaking up. "What happens if there's no answers. No solutions?" he asked quietly.

Jack wet his lips and carefully considered whether or not to tell Logan the truth.
"I can promise I'm not stalking you," he said. "And, yeah, I read your file. But if I told you why I remember certain things? You wouldn't believe me."
no subject
"Yeah, I probably wont," Logan agreed. "You know what, enjoy the squids, I need to sleep. I'm tired and I want to get up early to catch some waves."
no subject
Jack stayed seated as Logan made his excuses. He sat there long after Logan was gone. He sat there even as the place closed down for the night.
And then he finally went back to the hotel room. He'd hoped he'd waited long enough and Logan was actually asleep.

The mini bar was a little less full, and Logan was out cold, dressed in pajama bottoms and stretched out on the left side of the bed. He was snoring softly, and he barely stirred as Jack entered the room.

Jack never really slept much so he simply sat in the chair at the table. He plugged his phone in and began wasting time collection little gems and filling his basket. The sun began to rise and he checked his watch. Good time for the tide.
"Logan. Logan, wake up," he said as he gave the man a shake. "IT's time to surf."
no subject
Logan wasn't happy about his hangover, and he rubbed his face as he sat up.
"I need coffee before I hit the waves," he groaned. "And a shower. I smell like beer."
no subject
"You go shower, I'll order room service," he said as he backed off and went to the phone to order some coffee and whatever they could get for a good hangover breakfast.
no subject
Logan washed up quickly, his head pounding and the night before hazey.
"I don't even remember coming back to the room," he admitted, a towel around his waist as he dug through his bag. "Sorry for getting shitfaced on the first night. Guess I got carried away."
He pulled on his wetsuit, then tugged on shorts and a t-shirt over it before sitting down at the table.
no subject
"What's the last thing you remember?" Jack asked, wondering if he'd maybe been blessed with a miracle. Maybe last night could be done over, a bit more subtly.
no subject
Logan rubbed his face, then groaned.
"Pizza?" He replied, though he didn't sound sure.
no subject
Thank. God.
"It was a good pizza. Sorry there's none left."
no subject
"I'm pretty sure I had about a months worth of carbs last night, I'm good," Logan laughed.
no subject
Jack relaxed enough he could laugh at that.
"Maybe we can do a no carb breakfast when you get done surfing."
no subject
"Sounds like a plan," Logan nodded, smiling brightly. "Come on, let's hit the beach."
no subject
Jack grinned, banged once on the table, then got up.
"I've always loved the shore. I was raised by the ocean."
no subject
"Really?" Logan asked, leading the way out. "Where abouts?"
no subject
"The east," Jack replied. It wasn't technically a lie, after all.
no subject
"Like Myrtle Beach or something?" Logan asked. "Were the waves good?"
no subject
"They were beautiful," Jack replied, a tad wistfully. "Haven't been back in years."
no subject
"Maybe that should be your next vacation," Logan suggested. "I've heard trips home can be good for the soul. ...You know, homes other than mine anyway."
no subject
Jack gave out a bitter huff of a laugh.
"Yeah...no," he said. "I'll stay right here, far away. Besides, there's beaches everyplace."
no subject
"Except London," Logan snorted.
He rented a board at the beach, and while it wasn't as good as his own, it would have to do.
"Surfs up," he grinned, before heading out into the water.
no subject
Jack was content to sit on the shore and watch him. He had an umbrella and a fruity little drink and he did love the view.
After last night he needed to be a lot more careful.
no subject
Logan was content to waste the day in the waves, and it was late before he retired to the beach for drinks and food. By the time the sun set he was more than a bit tipsy and leaning against Jack as they headed back to the room.
no subject
Liquor burned through Jack's system so he wasn't even buzzed. No matter what he drank he may as well have been drinking water.
"All right, come on. Don't lose your feet," he said as they got to their room and he had to fumble with the key.
