Jack - Christmas

(continued from here)
Sitting in the boarding area, Logan looked out one of the large windows, watching as planes took off and landed. In a way leaving London felt wrong- As though he was taking a time out from serving his sentence. Though working for Torchwood often felt the same way. He'd given up so much when he'd left America, convinced that it was for the greater good, and now- Now it seemed as though it had all been for nothing. Just one more fuck up in a long line of fuck ups.
He took solace in the idea that at least with Torchwood he stood more of a chance accomplishing what he'd come here to do, but that didn't really make it easier.
Glancing over at Jack, he hesitated slightly before speaking up. "What happens if there's no answers. No solutions?" he asked quietly.

Date: 2019-12-27 03:49 am (UTC)Liquor burned through Jack's system so he wasn't even buzzed. No matter what he drank he may as well have been drinking water.
"All right, come on. Don't lose your feet," he said as they got to their room and he had to fumble with the key.

Date: 2019-12-27 03:55 am (UTC)"I know exactly where my feet are, and my phone. Less confident about the room card... You have yours though, so that's good. That's fine," Logan laughed.
no subject
Date: 2019-12-27 03:57 am (UTC)"I'm pretty sure you left your card in the room this morning," Jack replied, popping the lock and ushering Logan inside.
no subject
Date: 2019-12-27 04:01 am (UTC)"I knew that," Logan lied, laughing a bit as he flopped onto the bed.
no subject
Date: 2019-12-27 04:03 am (UTC)"Of course you did. Here, let me help you get your shoes off," he said, hoping beyond hope the bed wouldn't get completely full of sand.
no subject
Date: 2019-12-27 01:44 pm (UTC)Logan 'helped', trying to toe his shoes off, then eventually gave up and just resting against the pillows. He'd showered on the beach, and had changed into shorts and a t-shirt- The latter of which he soon began yanking over his head.
no subject
Date: 2019-12-27 10:39 pm (UTC)Jack finally managed to get the shoes off and he stood up. Watching Logan struggle out of his shirt was bittersweet. Jack could recall him doing it a thousand times. And Logan had no idea.

Date: 2019-12-27 11:05 pm (UTC)Logan tossed his shirt across the room, then flopped against the pillows again.
"I don't drink as well as I used to," he said, as if he hadn't always prone to getting just a bit shitfaced when he started drinking.

Date: 2019-12-28 12:16 am (UTC)"You seem to be doing okay," Jack said. He sat on the edge of the bed and rested his hand on Logan's thigh. "You should probably just try to go to bed."
no subject
Date: 2019-12-28 12:22 am (UTC)"Yeah? Yeah, probably," Logan yawned. "You turning in too?" he asked.
no subject
Date: 2019-12-28 01:12 am (UTC)"I was gonna check Twitter," he replied, then gave Logan a pat. "You must be exhausted. You were in the sun all day. Get some rest."
no subject
Date: 2019-12-28 01:22 am (UTC)"You never sleep, you never just switch off," Logan said, pausing to yawn. "Fuck Twitter, some sleep."
no subject
Date: 2019-12-28 01:44 am (UTC)Jack sighed, but laid his phone aside and took off his shoes and shirt. He walked to the other side of the bed and laid down.
"Happy?"
no subject
Date: 2019-12-28 01:48 am (UTC)Logan hummed and nodded, rolling closer and sprawling out.
no subject
Date: 2019-12-28 01:50 am (UTC)"Okay, but you've got to share at least part of the bed," he said, happy enough to be still and let Logan squirm around.
no subject
Date: 2019-12-28 02:07 am (UTC)"Mmm, fine," Logan agreed, settling on his side and tucking one arm under his pillow.
no subject
Date: 2019-12-28 02:09 am (UTC)"Best Christmas ever, am I right?" he asked, twisting and sinking so he could lay on his side facing Logan.
no subject
Date: 2019-12-28 02:18 am (UTC)"Better than being home in front of my TV alone," Logan admitted, moving closer and settling against Jack. He wasn't thinking though, just... Doing. letting himself be comfortable and close to someone else for a while.
no subject
Date: 2019-12-28 02:28 am (UTC)It was second nature to slip his arm around Logan to hold on.
God, he needed to be so careful. He had detailed memories that it seemed Logan just didn't have. A blank slate, as it were. All over again.
Part of him knew this could only end badly.
no subject
Date: 2019-12-28 02:40 am (UTC)Logan didn't pull away, instead settling against Jack and closing his eyes as he let sleep drag him under.
no subject
Date: 2019-12-28 03:16 am (UTC)There was literally no way he was sleeping now. How many years had he gone back and back to the simple peace and easy happiness of sleeping with Logan. He laid there, listening to the waves and the wind and the steady rhythm of Logan breathing.
"I'm doomed," he whispered to himself.
no subject
Date: 2019-12-28 03:19 am (UTC)Logan slept hard, though he did wake a few hours later, eyes slipping open in the dark space. He could feel Jack, could hear him breathing, and though he knew he should pull away and give the man some space, he settled in closer and let himself drift off again.
no subject
Date: 2019-12-28 03:24 am (UTC)Over the course of the night Jack slipped lower and lower in the bed until he was fully on the pillow and tangled under the covers with Logan. It was getting close to dawn when he finally closed his eyes and tried to take Logan's advice and just shut off for a bit.
no subject
Date: 2019-12-28 03:28 am (UTC)Logan always slept in when he could, but he eventually gave into the sunlight and carefully untangled himself from Jack. Groggy and a little hung over, he rubbed his face and headed for the shower, certain that Jack must still be asleep.
no subject
Date: 2019-12-28 03:50 am (UTC)Jack had gotten as far as dozing and just starting to dream. But when Logan got up and he lost his warmth, Jack was right back fully awake.
When the water began to run he got up and went to the phone, ordering up a greasy hangover cure of a breakfast, some good strong coffee, and some pills. Logan's head had to be killing him.
Then he got dressed and sat, as if he'd never been to bed in the first place.
"What'chu got for me, Twitter?" he asked his phone, calling up the app.
